West Point Society of Philadelphia in partnership with Valley Forge Military Academy & College and Area High Schools, supported by Dauntless Battalion, will sponsor Fall 2016 Leadership & Ethics Conference (L&EC) for High School Juniors and their Faculty/Staff. L&EC will be conducted on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Valley Forge Military Academy & College.
High School Juniors and their Faculty/Staff will explore ethical issues of Honor, Respect and Leadership as related to their own lives, other students and members of their communities. We expect participation by 120 Students and 30 Faculty/Staff.
The goal is to challenge Students to: Think critically about relevant ethical topics; Examine values of Honor, Respect and Leadership; Share learned values with Others; and Prepare them to be Leaders of Character in their High Schools and Communities.
LTC (R) David Jones, who currently serves as the Chair for Character Development at the United States Military Academy, has developed the High School L&EC Curriculum. LTC (R) Jones, participating in more than 30 Leadership and Ethic Conferences, is the Conference Moderator. Keynote speaker, Ms. Janel Kim, West Point and Drexel graduate is a marketing representative for Boeing on Future Vertical Lift Helicopters. ROTC College Students will moderate small group discussions on moral and ethical challenges faced in all facets of day-to-day life.
Approximately $12,000 is required to fund Moderator, Lunch/snacks, T-Shirts and miscellaneous administrative items.
